I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about which supplements that are worth spending money on. First of all I want to give my general view on supplements and the supplement industry: most of it is absolute bullshit. This is a BIG market (like brutally big) and brings a lot of money to the bodybuilding community and is the way folks in this business make big money. A lot of the claims made by the supplement ads are pure BS, and most of which is “supported by research” is made with huge methodological flaws or with a very limited or well biased subjects in the study.

Just give me a fucking break
With that being said there are some supplements I do feel have some valid scientific backing and are worth recommending for some people. I always recommend trying to get as much of the substances below from food sources, since healthy stuff often come in small packages with additive effects on other nutrients, but for some trainers a supplement might just be the next best thing. Do I believe supplements are needed for every gym rat? No. Can you get the results you want without ANY supplements? Yes.
